Algerian 3Q Production Rises: APS

Algeria’s upstream oil and gas production increased by 3.6% year on year in 3Q 2016, said the country’s statistics agency ONS, according to state news agency APS. It follows a year on year rise of only 0.5% in 2Q 2016 production. The report did not split out gas from oil trends, or give volumes.

LNG production was up 0.2% in 3Q 2016 year on year, compared with a decline of 20.7% in 2Q 2016.

Train 3 of the In Amenas gas complex in Algeria's Sahara Desert restarted in July after a gap of three years, while the country's In Salah gas complex ramped production too during 2016 after a handful of In Salah 'southern fields' were started up in February 2016.

Upstream oil and gas production for the nine months to September 2016 increased by 1.2% whereas that of LNG declined by 1.7%, the latter on account of the sharp fall in 2Q 2016.
