Xodus Group Expands Asian Environmental Presence

International energy consultancy Xodus Group announced July 18 that it had agreed to buy Perth-based Green Light Environmental.

The acquisition is part Xodus’ plan to expand its Asia Pacific operations. The company’s existing environment team, mainly based in the UK, has grown from the acquisition of Aurora Environmental in 2007.

Xodus said its new integrated environmental capability in Perth will be led by Petrina Raitt. During her time as managing director of Green Light Raitt founded eBase, a cloud-based environmental impact assessment (EIA) platform to support more efficient, consistent, and thorough EIA and project approvals.

Raitt said: “As well as the traditional markets, we know there are opportunities in new energy such as offshore wind and hydrogen which are developing in Australia—and environment will play a key role in these types of projects.”
