Woodside 2Q Production Down Almost 7% on Year

Australian Woodside 2Q production stood at 20.7mn boe, about 7% lower than the production achieved in the corresponding quarter last year due to planned and unplanned outages, mainly at Karratha gas plant and Pluto LNG.

Revenue in 2Q jumped to $867mn from $825mn a year earlier, while sales volumes fell 3.8% to 20.3mn boe, Woodside said July 20.

Pluto LNG achieved record daily and weekly production, 3% higher than the previous record achieved in 3Q 2016, after successfully completing a cold high-rate trial. Woodside informed that final commissioning of the Wheatstone LNG Train 1 is well advanced and nearing completion. LNG Train 2 start-up is expected 6 to 8 months after LNG Train 1 start-up.
