WoodMac expands energy transition offering

Edinburgh-based Wood Mackenzie said on June 18 it had bought fellow consultancy Roskill, in order to broaden its expertise in the metals and materials supply chains considered key for the energy transition.

"Combining Roskill’s capabilities with Wood Mackenzie reinforces our ability to provide comprehensive, integrated analysis across the energy, and metals and mining value chain," WoodMac president Neal Anderson said in a statement. "In particular, Roskill adds market-leading analysis, data, and insight on battery raw materials metals, which are an integral component of the energy transition."

Roskill was established in London in 1930 and describes itself as a "leader in critical materials supply chain intelligence." It provides market reports, consulting, sustainability and cost analysis, and events.

WoodMac, a Verisk business focused primarily on oil and gas markets, has also appointed Valerie Purvis as the global head of its metals and mining department, which will include Roskill. She will continue in her current post as global head of chemicals as well.
