Wood Group Wins another BP Caspian Contract

Wood Group PSN has won a five year contract with BP-operated projects, valued at $500mn, to deliver services to eight facilities, offshore Azerbaijan.

WGPSN will provide engineering, procurement and construction management services (EPCM) under the contract, which has the option of two, two year extensions, the company said on April 28.

According to the contract, WGPSN will support the platforms of Chirag, Central Azeri - Production Drilling Quarters, Central Azeri - Compression and Water Processing, East Azeri Production Drilling Quarters, West Azeri- Production Drilling Quarters, Deep Water Gunashli - Drilling & Utility Quarters, Deep Water Gunashli - Pressure Compression and Water Utilities and Shah Deniz Stage 1.

This is the second contract Wood Group won in Azerbaijan's offshore projects.

The contract for the initial phase of the subsea and pipeline engineering and project management services in BP-operated Shah Deniz, amounting to $57mn, was awarded to Wood Group Kenny in 2013.

Wood Group has three businesses, the third being Wood Group Mustang.

Wood Group is an international energy services company, and with sales of around $3bn WGPSN accounts for half the total. WGPSN operates in over 40 countries, according to the company's website.
