WestSide to Focus on Upping Meridian SeamGas Output

WestSide Corporation has said that its focus remains on increasing aggregate gas production from the Meridian SeamGas gas fields near Moura in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.

In early February WestSide received an upgraded reserves estimate from independent certifiers MHA Petroleum Consultants LLC, significantly increasing the Company’s 51 per cent share of the Meridian SeamGas joint venture’s gross certified reserves.

Company’s total net 1P reserves as at 31 December 2012 rose 40.7 PJ to 47.2 PJ – a more than six-fold increase from 6.5 PJ – while 2P reserves rose 34.5 per cent or 89 PJ from 258 PJ to 347 PJ and 3P reserves increased 22 per cent or 160 PJ from 725 PJ to 885 PJ.

During 2013, WestSide’s emphasis will be on increasing aggregate gas production from the Meridian SeamGas gas fields through the commissioning of recently-drilled wells, work-overs of existing producing wells and new enhancement methods, company said in a statement.

WestSide is  continuing commercial negotiations with various parties for the potential long term supply of gas to new customers in the export and domestic markets on the expiry of current contracts from 2014-15.
