Wartsila scores maintenance deal for Latsco LNGCs

Finland's Wartsila has obtained a five-year maintenance deal for the main engines of two LNG carriers (LNGCs) owned by shipping group Latsco LNG Marine Management, it said on April 27.

In addition to asset diagnostics, maintenance planning, annual audits and spare parts, Wartsila will also provide the Hellas Diana and Hellas Athina LNGCs with remote support and condition monitoring systems, including the company's Expert Insight predictive maintenance service.

"This agreement will ensure that these vessels can operate with maximum reliability, availability, and performance," Latsco LNG Marine Management's COO Kostas Vlachos said in a statement.

The two vessels were constructed at the Hyundai Heavy Industries yard in South Korea, with Hellas Diana entering service in March this year and Hellas Athina due to join it this September. Both are equipped with WinGD X-DF dual-fuel engines.
