Warrego Energy Appoints CEO for Oz Operations

Sydney-listed Warrego Energy announced on August 3 that it had appointed David Biggs as CEO of its Australian operations from August 1, reporting to Dennis Donald, group CEO and managing director. Biggs, currently a non-executive director, will remain on the Warrego board as an executive director.

Biggs has more than 35 years’ experience in the upstream oil and gas sector working for organisations across Australia, New Zealand, UK, the Middle East, Africa, Indonesia and the Americas.

“He will lead the Perth-based Australian team which is focused on commercialising the company’s 50% interest in the West Erregulla gas field, progressing the EPA-0127 permit in Western Australia and pursuing further exploration opportunities,” the company said.

Earlier this year, West Erregulla gas project was awarded lead agency status in Western Australia. Warrego is partnered at West Erregulla with fellow Australian explorer Strike Energy in a 50:50 equity split.
