Vermillion Acquires Control in Dutch Gas Field

Vermilion Energy is taking full control of the Vinkega gas field in northern Netherlands by purchasing interests helds by Northern Petroleum, Nederlandse Aardolie Mij. BV, and Dyas BV. Vermilion held a 42.3% interest prior to the transaction.

The Calgary based company spudded Vinkega-1 on Nov. 16, 2009, on the Gorredijk license. The well production tested more than 30 MMcfd from two formations.

Vermillion which anticipates starting production from the Rotliegendes formation in early 2012,  has identified more than 30 other prospects on 290,000 net acres in the northern Netherlands.
