Valmec Wins A$100mn Oz Origin Contract

Australian infrastructure services company Valmec December 8 said it has secured a A$100mn (US$75mn) contract with Origin Energy to provide compression facility, wellsite mechanical and electrical maintenance services.

The agreement is for an initial term of five years and covers services at Origin’s Spring Gully gas facilities in Queensland. The agreement may be extended further by Origin via two one-year extension options. The Origin contract provides a boost to Valmec’s forward order book, lifting it to A$193mn from A$93mn, the company said.

Since 2016, Valmec has been providing Origin with maintenance and construction services on the Australia Pacific LNG project’s upstream gas compression and power generation assets located in Queensland.
