US Senate Confirms McNamee to FERC

The US Senate on December 6 confirmed Bernard McNamee’s appointment to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Ferc), replacing Robert Powelson, who left the commission in August 2018 to head the National Association of Water Companies.

McNamee, who has held several senior positions in the US Department of Energy, will serve the remainder of Powelson’s term that expires in June 2020.

“I am pleased to welcome Bernie to the commission and I look forward to working with him and my Ferc colleagues on the important matters that are before the commission,” Ferc chairman Neal Chatterjee said. “Bernie’s knowledge and experience will serve the commission well.”

McNamee’s confirmation restores the commission to its full complement of five commissioners.
