Ukrtransgaz Launches Test Gas Supplies from Slovakia

Ukraine’s Ukrtransgaz and Slovakia’s Eustream launched test natural gas supplies from Slovakia to Ukraine.

‘According to the latest data from Ukrtransgaz' central dispatching department, daily testing-mode gas supplies will amount to two million cubic meters,’ Naftogaz wrote on Monday

In July, Ukraine’s imports from Europe registered a 18% year-on-year decrease and a 32.9% slump. At the moment, the country imports gas from Poland and Hungary. The new project is an upgraded pipeline, leading from the Vojany power station near the Ukrainian border to the western Ukrainian town of Uzhorod.

Ukrtransgaz’s board chairman Ihor Prokopiv said that the tests are on schedule and the project is going full steam ahead.

‘According to the latest data from Ukrtransgaz' central dispatching department, daily testing-mode gas supplies will amount to two million cubic meters.’

In April, Eustream and Ukrtransgaz clinched a deal to speed up the launch of reverse flow from Europe to Ukraine.
