Ukraine's Storage Stocks Flat on 2018

Ukraine started spring with as much gas in store as it had last year: 9.4bn m³ as of March 5 in both years. It began winter with as much as last year, but injected through the first weeks of November, whereas last year withdrawals began in October. On the same date in 2017 it had 8.2bn m³.

Operator Naftogaz Ukrainy said March 7 that there were sufficient reserves to allow stable gas deliveries for the remainder of the heating season, which conventionally ends this month. Gas production may also have been higher this winter than last, allowing less draw-down of stocks.
