Ukraine to Build LNG Plant

Ukraine’s government has formally launched a tender in which it has asked potential investors to prepare feasibility studies on construction of the nation’s first liquefied natural gas plant.

The new US$1.5bn plant would be located on the Black Sea is seen as key part of a wider programme to diversify energy supplies and reduce its energy dependence on Russia

Vladyslav Kaskiv, head of Ukraine’s state agency for investment and national projects, said the government plans to select an investor by the end of the year.
