Ukraine, Poland Extend Capacity Deadline

Poland and Ukraine's gas transmission system operators (TSOs) have extended the deadline for their 'market screening' procedure relating to a planned capacity expansion of a cross-border pipeline.

On April 6, Gaz-System and Ukrtransgaz set a deadline of April 30 at 4pm local time to submit non-binding bids for capacity. However on April 26, they said that deadline has been extended until June 8 at 4pm local time. Ukrtransgaz said the extension was granted following "several requests received from market participants."

The results of the market screening procedure shall constitute the basis for both TSOs' decision on the future binding allocation procedure (open season) for the firm capacities at the Poland–Ukraine border, in both directions of the flow, the two companies said. Forms and rules are available here: Capacity request form and Rules of the market screening.

The two TSOs, both state-owned, said they will assess the received capacity request forms and publish the results by July 13.
