Ukraine Looking to Buy Qatari LNG

Ukraine is looking at the possibility of purchasing liquefied natural gas in Qatar, country’s Prime Minister Mykola Azarov during his visit to Qatar.

"Ukraine is persistently working on diversification of gas supplies and exploring the possibility of purchasing gas in Qatar," he said.

He added that Qatar being such a major player in LNG market, it becomes important for Ukraine to cooperate with the country.

"Our cooperation with the state which produces a third of world production of liquefied gas is extremely important for us," he said.

He added that Qatari gas would be three times cheaper than Russian gas.

The Prime Minster also said that Ukraine will take Qatar’s help in constructing the LNG terminal in Odessa.
