Ukraine Interested in Developing Turkmen Gas Infrastructure

Ukraine is keen on working with Turkmenistan to help develop the energy rich Central Asian nation’s energy complex, including the development of production and transportation of Turkmen gas.

Ukraine sais it was interested in developing gas fields and help Turkmenistan with technical support.

Projects like Turkmenistan East-West pipeline, TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) gas pipeline, construction of the second branch of Malay-Bagtyyarlyk pipeline (part of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline) was of interest to Ukrain, local media reported.

East-West pipeline is scheduled to be commissioned by mid 2015. Approximate cost of construction of the pipeline is over $2 billion.

Turkmenistan has also been working to increase supply of gas to China via a pipeline which was commissioned in 2009.
