Ukraine Cuts Prices In August

State Naftogaz Ukrainy has cut this month’s gas prices for residential and other minor consumers covered by its public service obligation by 5% from July’s price, it said August 9. This reflects lower wholesale prices at European hubs where Naftogaz buys its gas although other factors are also considered. They will now pay hryvnia 4.54 ($0.18)/m³ ($5.13/mn Btu) net of tax and delivery. The final price depends on the distribution tariff, set by the regulator. The price is now a quarter less than it was in April.
