UK Neptune Hires Equinor Exec

Neptune Energy Group has hired Gunleiksrud Haatvedt as vice-president and head of exploration, the privately-owned UK company said August 29. She was previously senior vice president for the Norwegian Shelf at state-controlled Equinor, during which time the company discovered Johan Sverdrup, one of the five largest fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, Neptune said.

It says it is "currently the fifth largest operator on the Norwegian continental shelf," thanks in part to the 2016 Cara discovery and its more recent purchase of VNG's Norwegian upstream business. It is also buying up assets in the UK, including some of Apache's oil and gas assets, which it announced earlier in August.
