UK Gas Indie To Bring in Schlumberger
Small UK gas producer, Independent Oil and Gas (IOG), said September 25 it had signed a letter of intent and consultancy master services agreement (CMSA) with US services giant Schlumberger relating to development of its two Southern North Sea (SNS) gas hubs: Blythe and Vulcan Satellites.
The CMSA provides a framework for Schlumberger to assist IOG in the period prior to final investment decision on the SNS development project, with a joint team to be established.
"We are delighted to attract a major contractor of the calibre of Schlumberger to the project,” said IOG’s CEO Mark Routh: "We look forward to finalising terms with Schlumberger and other key contractors in the coming months." Discussions with potential gas offtakers are progressing well, he added.
In June, Routh said that IOG has half a trillion ft³ of conventional and tight gas discoveries in the UK southern North Sea.
Meanwhile in the UK West of Shetland area, developer Hurricane Energy said September 25 it has received consent to proceed with its Lancaster oilfield early production system development (EPS) targeting first oil in 1H 2019. Hurricane CEO Robert Trice said: “Lancaster EPS is not only an essential step in planning for the full field development of the company's Rona Ridge assets, but also represents a substantial development in its own right, with planned production of 17,000 b/d oil.”
