UAE Offers to Work with Pertamina

United Arab Emirates is interested in working with Indonesian Pertamina to manage latter’s oil and gas fields, Indonesian ministry of energy and mineral resources said May 18. UAE energy minister Suhail Mohammed Faraj Al Mazrouei and Indonesian minister of energy and mineral resources Ignasius Jonan met in Jakarta May 18.

The two parties could work on ten oil and gas fields in Indonesia, Jonan said, adding that the scope of co-operation could also be for overseas assets.  He further stated that Indonesia will likely directly purchase LPG and crude from UAE’s national oil company Adnoc, bypassing intermediaries.

New work areas offered

The ministry also announced May 19 that for 2017, the government would be offering ten conventional and five unconventional work areas. The conventional working areas are offshore Aceh and Natuna, offshore and onshore Banten-Lampung, offshore East Kalimantan, offshore and onshore Maluku, onshore West Papua and offshore and onshore Papua. Unconventional blocks are located onshore Jambi, onshore Jambi and onshore South Sumatra.

The 15 new areas would be offered directly as well as by means of auction.
