TurkStream back online after maintenance

Russia's TurkStream gas pipeline is back online after a week of maintenance, Gazprom said on its Telegram channel on June 27.

The maintenance period was due to run from June 21 to 28, but Gazprom said that gas flow had been restored at 20:00 Moscow time on June 27.

The resumption of gas supplies via TurkStream comes as a number of European gas buyers are reporting reductions in Russian shipments. Gazprom said earlier this month it was cutting gas flow via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline to Germany by 60%, because of technical difficulties at a compressor station. But European politicians have said the disruptions are politically-motivated.

TurkStream has a transport capacity of 31.5bn m3/year and consists of two strings. One string serves the European market while the other provides gas for Turkish consumers.
