Trillion Energy kicks of drilling at SASB field off Turkey

Trillion Energy International has started its multi-well drilling programme on the SASB natural gas field offshore Turkey, it said on September 19.

The rig is situated at the Akcakoca platform where the first wells are being drilled. A total of three directional wells will be drilled from the platform, plus one recompletion of an existing well. Trillion estimates the four operations will be completed within six months. First gas production is expected in early November 2022.

After the work at the Akcakoca platform, the Uranus rig will move to the next of the three platforms at SASB to continue the work programme. The company has plans to drill and complete these initial seven wells followed by another estimated 10 wells prior to further exploration.

Trillion owns multiple assets throughout Turkey and Bulgaria. It is 49% owner of the SASB natural gas field, has a 19.6% interest in the Cendere oil field and in Bulgaria it owns the Vranino 1-11 block, a prospective unconventional natural gas property.
