Transerv Energy Confident of Warro Gas Field's Commercial Potential

Transerv Energy on Tuesday announced that logs received from the Warro-6 well have highlighted the strong commercial potential of the Warro onshore field in Western Australia.

The results have confirmed presence of a thick gas-bearing interval and a second zone of hydrocarbon-bearing sands, the company said, adding that they follow the similarly strong results received from the recent Warro-5 well, which encountered a 161m-thick gas-bearing interval.

These results are considered highly promising because both wells not only proved the presence of thick, gas bearing sands with pay down to 4462.5m but the possibility of further deeper gas because the well was still in gas pay at TD. In light of this, Transerv has commissioned an independent consultant to recalculate the estimated volume of gas-in-place at Warro.  The current gas-in-place estimate stands at 8-10 trillion cubic feet, making Warro Australia’s biggest undeveloped onshore gas field.

“We believe that these results will significantly expand the gas-in-place estimates ahead of the commencement of the flow testing programs on Warro 5 and 6 early in 2016,” Transerv Managing Director Stephen Keenihan said.
