Transco Sets Delivery Record on US System

Deliveries on the Transco interstate gas pipeline system in the US, which stretches from south Texas to New York City, reached a single day record of 15.7bn Btu on January 21, Transco operator Williams said February 7.

The new peak-day mark surpasses the previous record set January 5, 2018, and preceded a record three-day delivery average of 15.3bn Btu/day between January 30 and February 1.

The delivery records largely reflected firm capacity added to the Transco system through three expansions completed in 2018 and earlier this year – Gulf Connector, Atlantic Sunrise and Garden State Phase 3. Together, the three projects added more than 2.3bn Btu/day of firm transportation capacity.

Construction on five more Transco expansion projects – Rivervale South to Market, Hillabee Phase 2, Northeast Supply Enhancement, Gateway and Southeastern Trail – is set to begin this year. Those five will add another 1.5bn Btu/day of capacity in 2019 and 2020.
