TAP Receives Approval of Environmental Impact Assessment from Italy

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline AG (TAP) has announced that it was received the approval of Environmental Impact Assessment from the Italian Government .

In press release today, the pipeline project said that Italy's Minister of Environment, Gianluca Galletti, had signed the Decree of environmental compatibility of the project for the Italian section of the pipeline, concluding "another major milestone for the project".
 
TAP said that the approval comes after extensive engagement with stakeholders including local communities and close cooperation with those national and regional authorities involved in the process.


The final EIA report is in full accordance with both Italian and EU legislation and follows the international requirements of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
