Tokyo Gas to supply carbon-neutral city gas to Marunouchi

Tokyo Gas has signed an agreement to supply carbon neutral city gas to infrastructure firm Marunouchi Heat Supply Co., it said on October 18 in a statement.

All the cooling and heating systems operated by Marunouchi will switch to carbon-neutral gas from November 1. The total volume of carbon-neutral city gas supplied will be approximately 34mn m 3/year, and the amount of CO 2 reduction will be approximately 97,000 metric tons/year, Tokyo Gas said.

In March 2020, Tokyo Gas began initial supplies of carbon neutral city gas to two office buildings owned by Mitsubishi Estate for the first time in Japan.
