Tokyo Gas, Kyushu Plan Gas-Based Power Plant

Tokyo Gas and Kyushu Electric Power have formed a joint venture to build a gas-based power plant at Sodegaura City, Chiba, Japan, Tokyo Gas said earlier this week.

The joint venture, China Sodegaura Power, will be owned 50% each by Tokyo Gas and Kyushu Electric.

The power plant will have a capacity of 2 GW. A Tokyo Gas spokesperson told Reuters that the plant is expected to come online by the end of 2020s.
