Three Tenders Received for Lithuanian LNG Unit

Financial director for Lithuanian Klaipėdos Nafta,  Mantas Bartuška, has said that it has received three tenders for a required liquefied natural gas floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU). The closing date for tenders expired yesterday at 16:00.

The unit, which needs to process at least 130,000 cubic metres of LNG, would serve as an addition to an existing oil terminal operated by the Lithuanian government.

Mantas Bartuška says that Klaipedos Nafta, which has been tasked to deal with the project, will meet with the three tenderers to take part in negotiations on the project, once the minimum qualifications and requirements have been met.

He did not reveal the names of the three interested bidders. The government is expected to spend 1 billion litas (approximately €290 million) on the project.
