Thai Gulf Energy to Build Gas-Based Power Plant in Vietnam

Thailand’s Gulf Energy Development November 2 signed a cooperation agreement to develop a 6 GW gas-based power plant and a 6mn metric tons/year LNG import terminal in Vietnam’s Ninh Thuan province, the company said November 4 in a stock exchange filing.

The agreement was signed by Gulf Energy and Ninh Thuan Provincial People’s Committee on sidelines of the Asean Summit that took place in Bangkok. Under the cooperation agreement, both parties agreed to extend their cooperation to the exchange of studies, expertise, and know-how in the field of gas-fired power plants and LNG terminal, financing capacities and any related matter, the company said.

Gulf Energy has already invested in solar power and wind power projects in Vietnam.
