TechnipFMC wins “substantial” contract from Woodside

New York-listed TechnipFMC has secured a “substantial” contract from Woodside Energy to provide engineering, procurement, construction, and installation services for flexible pipes and umbilicals as part of the Julimar Phase 3 development offshore Western Australia, the company announced on June 14. For TechnipFMC, a "significant" contract falls within the range of $75mn to $250mn.

Under the contract, TechnipFMC will connect four subsea gas wells in the Carnarvon basin to the existing Julimar subsea infrastructure, which will produce gas for the Chevron-operated Wheatstone platform. This will involve the use of high-pressure, high-temperature flexible pipes and steel tube umbilicals.

“We have a strong history of solid project execution with Woodside as demonstrated by the successful delivery of the Pyxis, Lambert Deep, and Greater Western Flank Phase 3 projects. We look forward to continuing this collaborative relationship with this award on Julimar Phase 3 as part of our framework agreement,” said Jonathan Landes, president of subsea at TechnipFMC.

Woodside Energy Julimar operates on behalf of the Julimar joint venture participants, with Woodside holding a 65% stake and Kufpec owning the remaining 35% stake.
