Technip Awarded Subsea Contract for Glenlivet Field

Technip has been awarded a subsea contract for the development of the Glenlivet field located nearby the Edradour Subsea Development in UK waters.

As part of the deal, the French company will produce and install pipelines, steel tube umbilical, flexible tails, flowline end terminations, and rigid well tie-in spools.

“It is very good to see the benefits of the synergies between these two projects being realized by Total’s award of this extra scope to Technip” Knut Boe, Senior Vice- President of Technip's North Sea Canada region, stated on Tuesday.

DOUBTS ON UK PRODUCTION REMAIN

A few hours before, a trade association asked public support to maintain sustained investment in critical infrastructures.

“This year’s Activity Survey paints a bleak picture but also identifies this region’s potential, emphasizing the importance of Government and industry now putting the right measures in place to secure its long-term future” Malcolm Webb, Oil & Gas UK’s chief executive, commented on Tuesday, presenting the new survey.

According to the report, rising costs, taxes and inadequate regulation are having a negative impact on domestic production.

“Without sustained investment in new and existing fields, critical infrastructure will disappear, taking with it important North Sea hubs, effectively sterilising areas of the basin and leaving oil and gas in the ground.”
