Tarim Oilfield's output hits record in 2022

The Tarim oilfield, one of China’s biggest upstream projects, produced a record 33.1mn metric tons of oil and gas equivalent in 2022, up 4% year/year, its state-owned operator CNPC said on January 4.

Last year, the oilfield produced 7.36mn mt of crude oil and 32.3bn m3 of natural gas. The field is located in China's northwestern Xinjiang province.

Since the beginning of 2021, a new production capacity of 922,000 mt of crude oil and 2.76bn m3 of natural gas has been built, CNPC said in December 2021.
