Tarim Field Ups Supplies to China's West-East Pipe

The Tarim oilfield supplied 24.86bn m3 of natural gas to the West-East Gas Pipeline network between the start of the year and December 27, up 18% year/year, its state-run operator CNPC said on December 29.

There are currently over 1,100 production wells at the field, producing at a record rate of more than 95mn m3/day, the company said. The field, situated in China's northwestern Xinjiang province, flowed 28.05bn m3 of gas last year. Its overall hydrocarbon output came to 30mn metric tons of oil equivalent between January 1 and December 21, and CNPC plans to raise annual extraction to 40mn mt of oil equivalent by 2025.
