TAP Reportedly Announces Intention to Double Capacity

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) has reportedly given notice to European authorities of its intention to double capacity to 20 bcm/year from the onset of its operations. TAP should deliver gas to Europe in 2019/2020.

TAP AG has not confirm the news, but it announced it is moving forward with its plan. After announcing the Invitations to Tender (ITT) for the supply of large diameter ball valves and actuators on Tuesday, the company also announced it issued ITT for the supply of six gas turbine turbo compressor units.

‘The scope for each of the two contracts covers the delivery and installation of  three new-build – approximately 15 Mega Watts ISO – gas turbine turbo compressors, including auxiliary equipment’ reads the note published on TAP’s website

Originally, the 20 bcm capacity was planned for the second stage of the developments.
