Tanzania Producer Wentworth Seeks New CEO, Amid Move to London

Oslo- and AIM-listed Tanzania gas producer Wentworth Resources said November 16 it is relocating its head office and management to London from Calgary, Alberta.

It said the UK move is to bring it closer to shareholders – it has few in Canada – and to its production interests in Tanzania and exploration asset in Mozambique. However Geoff Bury, the CEO since 2010, has said for personal reasons he is unable to relocate, so will leave Wentworth once a suitable replacement has been found. A search is underway, and in the interim Bury will remain as CEO.

Directors are also exploring the possibility of re-domiciling the company from Canada to a European country. Wentworth executive chairman Bob McBean thanked Bury for "his significant contribution to the business [in] establishing a growth platform business both in terms of production and cash flow and with upside from our potentially world class exploration and appraisal asset in Mozambique."
