Tamar Partners Find New Gas Offshore Israel

Israel’s Delek Group announced Tuesday that partners in South West Tamar exploration well have concluded that strong signs of natural gas were discovered during the drilling that were carried out by the operator, Noble Energy.

“It is clarified that appraisal drilling work has not yet taken place and signs of natural gas do not necessarily indicate an existence of a Discovery, as defined in the rules of the PRMS and/or by the Petroleum Law,” the company stressed in the a statement.

According to estimates, The Tamar field contains between 9 and 10 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, and began production in March.

The partners in the project are Noble Energy, Avner Oil Exploration, Delek Drilling, and Isramco.
