Swiss Axpo has New CEO

Swiss utility Axpo will have a new CEO as of May 1: Christoph Brand replaces the chair, Thomas Sieber, who has been in charge of the interim operative management of the company since October 2019.

"I am pleased that Christoph Brand is taking over as our new CEO. Christoph’s personality, leadership spirit and experience in communications, technology and digitalisation makes him the ideal leader for the company going forward," Sieber said.

Brand said it would be a challenge, working from home and unable to "meet and greet employees personally. The current, global crisis will change our relationship to work, energy and innovation." Brand, who is 50, was previously the CEO of technology and trading companies and a graduate of Berne University.
