Local Companies to Supply Pipeline for South Pars Gas Project

Managing-Director of the Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) Mousa Souri said that Iranian companies will supply the sea pipeline and equipment needed for the transfer of gas supplies from the South Pars field.

Souri stressed that Iranian companies enjoy the capability to produce and supply the goods and equipment needed for the development of the South Pars field, Fars News Agency reported.

Iran is likely to complete development operations in South Pars by the end of winter 2014.

South Pars Gas Field as one of the biggest gas reserves in the world is located in the Persian Gulf waters shared by Iran and Qatar.

The Iranian part of the field covers an area approximately 3.700 square kilometers with in place gas reserves more than 14 trillion cubic meters which is equal to 8 percent of total gas reserves of the world and half of the country's discovered gas reserves.
