Summit Midstream Sets Permian Open Season

Summit Midstream Partners said August 6 it had launched a binding open season for firm transportation capacity on its proposed Double E pipeline project, designed to carry gas from the northern Delaware basin in Texas to various delivery points around the Waha hub in northern Pecos County, Texas.

Service is targeted for 2Q 2021, but the ultimate in-service date will depend on a variety of factors, including approval by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and other government authorities.

Capacity of the project, and its precise length and route, will depend on the outcome of the open season. Additional receipt laterals and extensions are also being contemplated.

Summit said it has entered into a long-term binding commitment with a foundational shipper for up to 500mn ft3/day, which will not be subject to prorationing as a result of the outcome of the open season.

The open season will end on September 14, 2018.
