Strike Energy Intersects Gas at Cooper Basin Well

Strike Energy has observed better than expected preliminary gas measurements in the coals intersected by its Le Chiffre-1 exploration well in the Cooper Basin, South Australia.

The Toolachee formation was encountered at approximately 1,430m and over 20m of coal core has been recovered over the interval from 1,464m to 1,588m.

Logging and further analysis will be required before the significance of these early results can be determined, Strike said.

The forward plan is to continue to drill ahead to test the target coal seams in the REM and Patchawarra Formations.

The Le Chiffre 1 well is being drilled by the PEL  96  joint  venture  (Operator Strike  66.7%  and Energy World Corporation 33.3%) and is located approximately 105 km south-south west of Moomba and 4km east of the Moomba to Adelaide Pipeline.
