Statoil Resumes Work at Troll C

Statoil has resumed production from the Troll C platform in the North Sea following a temporary shutdown.

The platform was shut on November 15 after inspectors found corrosion in some tanks on the auxiliary system for treating gas.

A team of experts reinjected untreated gas into the reservoir, the company said, enabling production to be restarted within several days.

“A great effort has been made during the weekend to plan the repair work, and we have also looked into alternative production methods,” said Rune Adolfsen, Statoil head of production on Troll C. “We assume that this method will allow us to produce at around 70% of full capacity during the repairs.”
