Statoil Chooses Technip for Deepest Floating Production in the World

France-based Technip was awarded by Shell Offshore an engineering, procurement and installation contract for the development of subsea infrastructure for the Stones field located in the US Gulf of Mexico.

According to the note released on Friday, the development will host the deepest floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit in the world.

“With greater depths come greater challenges for our clients and we are delighted to help Shell push back subsea frontiers by laying the deepest gas pipeline worldwide,” commented David Dickson, Technip’s Senior Vice President.

Technip will be in charge of installation of the subsea production system and Stones lateral gas pipeline.

The majority of the Euronext Paris-listed company come from America (32%) and the macro-area Europe/Russia/Central Asia (29%).

Technip’s operating center in Texas will perform the overall project management, adds the note.
