State Gas develops commissioning plan for CNG facility in Queensland

Sydney-listed State Gas on January 18 said that a formal commissioning plan for its proposed CNG facility in Queensland has been developed and pre-commissioning activities will commence next week.

The CNG facility will enable the processing and initial sale of production testing gas from the company's Rolleston West project. Notably, the final tie-in of the Rougemont 2/3 dual lateral coalbed methane well to the CNG facility is slated for completion this week.  Surface rehabilitation of the pipeline corridor and the area surrounding the CNG facility pad is well underway, the company added.

State Gas is planning to truck CNG to the market to commercialise its proven gas resource at Reid's Dome project in Queensland.

The CNG facility can compress up to 1.7 terajoules/day of gas. The facility will serve as a hub for ongoing testing and early-stage gas sales. Upon connection to the CNG facility, Rougemont 2/3 is expected to contribute approximately 0.75 terajoules/day of CNG to the supply.

State Gas is a Queensland-based developer of the Reid's Dome gas field, originally discovered during drilling in 1955, located in the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland. State Gas is the 100%-owner of the project.
