Southwest Gas closes Questar pipe purchase

Southwest Gas reported on December 31 that it had closed the purchase of Questar Pipelines, the owner of some 3,500 km of gas pipelines in the Rocky Mountain region, from Dominion Energy.

Southwest will rebrand Questar as MountainWest Pipelines Holding during the first half of this year. Colleen Larkin Bell will serve as MountainWest's president, reporting to Karen Haller, vice president at Southwest.

Southwest entered into a definitive agreement to buy Questar from Dominion in early October.
