South Stream Slovenia Elects Board of Directors

South Stream Slovenia has taken another step in soldifying its structure with the election of a Board of Directors.

The election, which was taken Wednesday evening, sees Bostjan Napast, Chairman of the Management Board of Geoplin became Chairman of the Board of South Stream Slovenia, with Leonid Chugunov was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Board of South Stream Slovenia.

Deputy Head of the Project Management Department of Gazprom, Igor Belousenko, was elected a director, as was Janez Groselj, Director of the Energy Department of the Petrol oil company, operator Gazprom said.

At the same meeting, held on a working visit to Slovenia, the assembled parties also discussed the work schedules for the pipeline in Slovenia. Gazprom says that at the meeting, the shareholders of South Stream Slovenia approved the criteria for making a final investment decision on the project.

Slovenia is one of the route countries for the South Stream project, a pipeline designed to carry Russian gas to Europe. The pipeline, which will begin construction in December this year, will carry an estimated 63 billion cubic metres of gas a year to Europe.
