Sound's Moroccan TE-10 Well Continues to Please

Sound Energy has carried out the initial phase of the test programme at its Well TE-10 in the Greater Tendrara area of eastern Morocco, over a gross interval of 158 metres between measured depths of 1,932 and 2,090 metres.

Interpretation of these tests is continuing but it said May 8 that it has was "delighted" to report flows of hydrocarbon gas, ranging from methane to pentane, within the primary shallow zone,  without stimulation or artificial lift.

The next step in the operation will be to mechanically stimulate the most prospective zones, in order to seek to establish potentially commercial flow rates of gas. As previously communicated, based on its assessment of the reservoir section, a stimulated flow rate of about 1.5mn-2mn ft³/day is likely to be commercial as a tie-back development to the TE-5 Horst existing discovery.

Sound has also been awarded an environmental impact assessment for future drilling activities, covering about 9,400  km² in the northern region of the Greater Tendrara permit and the majority of the Anoual permit. The relatively large size of this EIA is designed to give maximum flexibility in its selection of future wells in the acreage including the forthcoming TE-11 exploration well and further future drilling locations.

In February, Sound upgraded the previously announced net payestimates by almost half, from up to 10.5 metres to up to 15.4 metres, at a subsurface depth around 2,000 metres.
