Sinopec's Southwest Unit Sets Record

State-run Sinopec’s southwest subsidiary, Sinopec Southwest Oil & Gas, achieved record daily gas output last week, Sinopec said on April 29 in a statement.

Sinopec Southwest Oil & Gas produced 20mn m3 of gas on April 24, a record single-day output. Since the start of the year, the company has produced 2.01bn m3 and sold 1.86bn m3 of gas, Sinopec said, without providing any year-on-year comparison.

Sinopec Southwest Oil & Gas, based in Chengdu, in the Sichuan province, is engaged in oil and gas exploration, marketing and other related businesses in southwest China. Its main areas of exploration and production are the provinces of Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Guizhou and Guangxi.
