Sinopec's North China Unit Boosts Gas Output

Chinese state-run Sinopec’s north China unit has produced over 4bn m3 of natural gas since the start of the year, up 9.5% year on year, Sinopec said November 29. The company expects the 2019 target of 4.37bn mto be exceeded.

Sinopec’s north China unit operates the Daniudi and Dongsheng gas fields in the Ordos Basin. 

Chinese state-run explorers have boosted the production of natural gas to meet growing domestic demand. China’s natural gas production stood at 14.6bn m3 in October, up 8.2% compared with the same month a year ago, the country’s statistics department said on November 14.

Output was also up versus September when 13.5bn m3 of gas was produced, the statistics department's data showed. In the first 10 months of the year, production totalled 142.3bn m3, an increase of 9.3% compared with the same period of last year.
