Sinopec's Fuling Shale Gas Output Flat

Sinopec operated Fuling shale gas field produced a total of 4.17bn m3 of shale gas during the period January 1-September 1, up 0.06% year on year, Sinopec said September 6.

The company sold 4bn m3 of shale gas during the aforementioned period, up 0.06% year on year. Sinopec said it had achieved almost 66% of the annual production and sales targets.

The first phase of the Fuling shale gas field in central southwest China went into production in 2015. Sinopec is aiming to raise output to 10bn m³/yr by 2020. 

Since 2014, four shale gas fields have been discovered in the Sichuan basin: Fuling, Weiyuan, Changning and Weirong.
